It is not necessary to create an account to view any of the pages on the site or to put items into the shopping cart. However you will need to have a valid account for an order to be completed and your items to be purchased and delivered.

If you only know the subject, or can only remember part of the title or author, just enter what you know into the search box and let our search engine do the rest.

To browse our online store, simply use the navigation menu at the top of the page and then refine your search be using the sub categories offered. Our popular selections and recommendations are located to the left of every page for your convenience.
If you cannot find the title you are looking for online, please contact your local Whitcoulls store on: 0800 155 662 to speak to a bookseller who will be able to provide you with price and availability information and will be able to order for you if the title is available.
Your Account

The first time you want to place an order you will need to create your customer account using the ‘create account’ button. When you register you will be required to enter your name, a valid email address and a password.

After your first visit all you will need to do to access your account is login as an existing customer using your email and password. We will retrieve the rest of your information from our database including your order history and contact information.

When you login to your account you will be able to view your recorded personal information and details of past and current orders. - Updating Your Information +

If you wish to change your contact details including name, your email address or your password, you will be able to update these details in the profile section of your account.

Please ensure when you place an order that the delivery address is accurate and complete (including any business name if shipping to a work address) as we are unable to change any details once the order has been placed.

Be assured that we keep all personal information submitted to us in the strictest confidence. The information is stored on a secured server and is only used to process orders from Whitcoulls Online. This information will not be released to anyone other than those necessary to fulfill your order. We do not rent or sell your name, address, credit card information or personal information to any third party without your permission. Ordering Through Whitcoulls Online

Find the item or items you are looking for, click on the buy button and they will appear in the shopping basket to the right of the page. Once you have added all the items you want to the basket, click on the checkout button. This will take you through to either sign in or create an account, and once you have done this the checkout process will commence. Simply fill in the required information and submit your order. Please ensure the delivery address entered is complete and accurate (including any business name if shipping to a work address) as this information is unable to be changed after placing your order.

Due to spam filters, you may not have received your confirmation and dispatch emails, you can view these when you log into your account.
Whitcoulls Online sources titles from distributors both locally and overseas.
Availability
Please note that every title on our website includes its availability information as part of its product details. Availablity definitions are as follows:-
Dispatched in 24 hours:
The title is in stock at our fulfilment centre or with one of our suppliers and the dispatch process will usually commence within 24 hours (excluding weekends) of you placing the order with us. A confirmation email will be sent to you once the title has been dispatched and your online account will also show that the title has been sent. -
In-stock:
Available in our local fulfillment centre or with one of our overseas suppliers. These titles are available for purchase. -
Currently unavailable online:
This title is currently unavailable for purchase through the website. You may be able to order the title through your local store. If the title becomes available through the website at a later date, it will appear with a buy button. -
Out of Print:
This title is no longer available for purchase through this website however you may try ordering through Biblioz which specialises in rare and out of print books.

Dispatch and Delivery
Delivery time frames for items will vary depending on the source. The expected dispatch and delivery time frame will be displayed in the product information for each title. More information about delivery is available here .
We do not ship internationally at present. -
- Cancelling an Order +

You are able to cancel your order by emailing our customer service team with your order number. Please note that if your order is in the process of being dispatched it cannot be cancelled. Most items that are dispatched within 24 hours are unable to be cancelled once ordered.

Prices, offers and availability may differ between Whitcoulls Online and Whitcoulls bookstores, including when specific online or in-store promotions are running.

Whitcoulls Online accepts credit card payments via Amex, Mastercard, and Visa. Whitcoulls giftcards may also be redeemed online. Cash and EFTPOS are not accepted online but may be used in Whitcoulls bookstores.

Please note that all orders require full payment up front. This includes orders for in-stock titles as well as pre-order and back-order titles.
If paying by credit card you must enter this information the first time you make a purchase. At this point you may choose to save your card details for next time you use your account. All online credit card transactions are secured with SSL encryption and are handled by DPS which is certified by all New Zealand banks. No credit card details are stored on any of our systems or in any paper format. For more information visit www.dps.co.nz.
Your credit card will be charged when your purchase is dispatched. We will contact you by email if there is a problem processing payment with any part of your order.

Redeeming a Voucher:
If you are using an online voucher offer, collect the voucher code and then enter this in the checkout's voucher box when you have finished shopping.
Please note;-
Once a voucher number has been entered and the apply button pressed, the voucher has been validated and will be applied to your purchase. You can remove an applied voucher with the remove button.

Voucher offers are only redeemable through Whitcoulls online store.

You must create or log into an account to complete the transaction process with your delivery and contact details. You will also be required to enter credit card details to meet the balance of purchases.

Online vouchers cannot be used in Whitcoulls stores, for gift cards or for online purchases made in conjunction with a gift card or any other promotional offer.

Whitcoulls Online does not offer a gift wrapping service but it is still possible to purchase items as gifts by nominating a different recipient and address at the time of purchase.

Gift cards are available to purchase through Whitcoulls stores. These cards can be redeemed instore and online.
To redeem your gift card online, enter the number on the card in the gift card box in the checkout screen.

Rewards customers can receive 5% of their purchases every time they shop online.

Rewards points cannot currently be earned or redeemed online. Vouchers issued via the rewards program may currently only be used in store however we do intend to add this functionality to the website in the future.
