Tony Ballantyne Collection

Tony Ballantyne FRSNZ is Distinguished Professor of History at the University of Otago. A Fellow of the Royal Society Te Ap-rangi and a leading historian of empire, colonialism and cultural history, his influential works include Webs of Empire (BWB, 2012) and Entanglements of Empire (AUP, 2014). Ballantyne has served as Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Humanities) and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (External Engagement) at Otago. In 201 6 he received the Royal SocietyGs Humanities Aronui Medal. His research has reshaped understandings of New ZealandGs place in empire and the Pacific world.
