Delivery Information

Delivery charge is only $6.00 per order*.

Whitcoulls only delivers to addresses within New Zealand.

You must make sure that the delivery address and receiver’s name for your order is accurate and complete (including any business name if you ask us to deliver to a work address) because we may be unable to change these details once the order has been placed. We cannot take responsibility for any orders that go missing due to incorrect delivery information provided by you, or because you have not chosen a safe delivery address. Delivery will be deemed to have been made when the goods arrive at the delivery point agreed with you, or, if you are to arrange delivery, when the goods are available for collection by you.

We use Courier Post courier services - please note no signature is required for delivery - except on orders containing a Gift Card. Deliveries are made during standard weekday business hours.

*Oversize items may attract an oversized shipping cost of $10.00 for the first oversized unit, and then $5.00 for each subsequent oversized unit after that.

Delivery Instructions:

If you wish to request a particular location at your delivery address for the parcel to be left please enter a brief note in the delivery instructions field. Courier Post are unable to guarantee full compliance with these instructions, but where possible will endeavour to fulfil your request. Unfortunately, requests to deliver at a certain day or time cannot be accommodated.You must notify us within 5 days of the dispatch date (as stated in the email we send confirming dispatch) if you have not received an item. It is your responsibility to take care of the goods when they have been delivered in accordance with the instructions you have given us.

Addressing your Order

We do not use a signature required service for orders other than those for Gift Cards. If you want your order delivered to a business or apartment address please ensure you put the business name or apartment/building name in the fields provided in the delivery address section so the courier driver can find you! Delivery to PO Box or Private Bag addresses is also no problem.

For rural delivery addresses please put your RD number into the Suburb field. We use address verification to ensure consistent addressing that includes post codes. Not sure of the correct address or postcode for your delivery address? Check NZ Post’s Address Finder

If you have ordered a Gift Card, please check that the delivery address you use is one that is attended during the day as we use a Signature required courier service to ensure safe delivery every time.

Delivery Time frames

Not all products on the website are available from our warehouse. Many books are sourced from overseas suppliers to fill your order. These products show longer shipping time frames. Read more about our various product shipping times.

We use Courier Post couriers to deliver all our parcels. When your order is dispatched you’ll receive an email with the courier ticket tracking link embedded in it – simply click on the link and you will be able to see the stages your parcel is taking to reach you. If you have any questions about delivery once you receive this email, please contact Courier Post directly as they can help you best once your parcel has been dispatched from our warehouse.

Once an order is dispatched it gets delivered in the next 2-4 working days to addresses in the main metro areas of both North and South Islands. For smaller centres allow another working day for delivery. Rural Delivery (RD) addresses can take longer as Courier Post passes their parcels onto RD contractors who then make the delivery.

If you have ordered a Gift Card you will need to sign for the delivery. Please ensure you use a day time address that will be attended to reduce any delays. If no one is at home when the Gift Card order is delivered the courier will leave a Card to Call - your parcel stays with Courier Post and they will re-deliver it at a mutually agreed time and place. Simply call the 0800 number on the card to arrange a re-delivery. You will need to read out the ticket number from the card so make sure you have it handy when you call. Contact Courier Post

Problems with Your Order?

What happens if the goods are damaged when I open them up?

Should any damage be found after signing for the products due to the damage being concealed (i.e. not obvious due to packaging) you must notify Whitcoulls within 24 hours of delivery. We can discuss replacement or refund options, and will have the courier driver collect the damaged item and return it to us. Contact Us
