She was made a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to childrenGs literature in the 2026 Royal Honours. Ross Kinnaird is a prolific illustrator and graphic designer whose books, many of them in collaboration with Dawn, have been published in many countries. He lives close to the water on AucklandGs North Shore.
